30 Seconds with Butlins’ newest Bognor Regis Redcoat
We met Bognor Regis’ newest Redcoat, and asked her a few questions…
1. Tell us who you are and where you come from?
My name is Emily and I’m from Warwickshire.
2. What were you doing before becoming a Redcoat?
I studied at Rugby High School and was lucky enough to direct one of their productions, Macbeth. Before joining Butlins I was an Elf in Lapland for 5 weeks over the festive period. It was truly magical experience seeing the children’s (and adults) faces light up, it sums up the whole meaning of Christmas.
3. Do you have a guilty pleasure?
I love the band Steps, I have all of their albums on my IPod. When driving I crank up the volume, sing rather loud and bop along – I’d hate to know what people must think. Their music just makes me smile.
4. Let us into a little secret…
When I was nine I went on my very first holiday park holiday. I instantly fell in with it and knew that I wanted to pursue a career in entertainment. It was my number one dream, I followed that dream and it’s now a reality.
5. We know you’ve only been with us a few weeks but tell us why you love being a redcoat?
It’s what Butlins stands for. I really enjoy my job; it’s what I was born to do. I put on the red jacket and help to make our guests holidays special in every way, I love seeing the smiles. Being a redcoat doesn’t feel like a job, it’s my life and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
